  2. Domestic Installer Route– For experienced operatives specializing in domestic electrical installations.
  3. Experienced Worker Route – For operatives with 5+ years of industry experience seeking formal certification.

The 3 Main Routes

For non-experienced individuals or operatives without formal qualifications.
This comprehensive training package is ideal for those starting from scratch or those with hands-on experience but no formal qualifications. It includes everything you need to become a fully qualified electrician, including diplomas, NVQ, and AM2 preparation. Choose between a standard or fast-track option, depending on your experience and availability.

Who is this for?

  • Non-experienced individuals: People with no previous experience in electrical work, starting from scratch.
  • Existing operatives: Individuals with hands-on electrical experience but lacking formal qualifications.

Pathways Within the Gold Card Package:

  • Standard Route:

    • Ideal for non-experienced candidates.
    • Provides a comprehensive training program, starting with the basics and advancing to more complex electrical installations.
    • Includes a range of qualifications, such as the Level 2 and Level 3 Diplomas in Electrical Installations, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, and Inspection and Testing courses.
    • This route also includes an NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation portfolio and the AM2 Assessment, which is a final practical test (although the AM2 is not included in the package).

    Study Options:

    • Full-Time: Complete in 15 weeks, attending Monday to Friday at the training centre, followed by about 1 year to complete the NVQ portfolio.
    • Part-Time: Complete in 30 weeks, attending 1 day and 1 evening per week, with the NVQ portfolio taking about 1 year.

  • Fast-Track Option:

    • Designed for those with practical, on-the-job experience but no formal qualifications.
    • A faster way to gain the necessary certifications by combining in-centre learning with extensive online self-study.
    • Courses covered are the same as the Standard Route, but with an accelerated learning schedule that acknowledges your prior experience.

    Study Options:

    • 24 weeks of one day a week in-centre training, with online learning materials to supplement practical knowledge.
    • The NVQ portfolio takes about 1 year, just like the Standard Route.

For experienced operatives focusing on domestic electrical installations.
